Attendees are encouraged to park in Wentworth at the following locations and catch the FREE shuttle bus to the Showgrounds:

A FREE shuttle bus will be running from two locations:
- The Old Wentworth Post Office
- The Wentworth Swimming Pool (short walk from McLeod Oval Entry Gate)
Attendees are welcome to park around the Showgrounds in side streets, however, please be aware there may be a significant walking distance to the event area.
Alternatively, attendees are encouraged to be dropped off and picked up from the event OR catch the bus from surrounding towns for a small fee.
Event and Ticketing
What is The Smoke Show?
The Smoke Show is a Smoked Meats Festival, the first of it’s kind in Sunraysia. It’s an opportunity for a day out with family and friends to enjoy delicious dishes of smoked meats and sides, while enjoying some great local entertainment.
Do I need a ticket to enter?
Yes – The Smoke Show is a free event hosted by Wentworth Shire Council. Tickets are required to enter the venue. Under 12’s do not require a ticket for entry.
What time does the event start?
Gates open at 12:00pm. The event finishes at 7.00pm.
Can I bring along my children?
Yes – it is an all ages event.
Entry and Transport
Is dedicated event parking available?
Yes. Dedicated event parking is available at the Wentworth Showgrounds.
Do I need to book event parking ahead of time?
No. There is many parking options available surrounding the Wentworth Showgrounds.
Is public transport available?
Yes. Dedicated event shuttle buses will operate from Mildura, Gol Gol, Buronga and Wentworth.
Do I need to book a seat on the event shuttle bus ahead of time?
Yes. Shuttle tickets can be purchased here. Tickets cost $10 + Booking Fees. All passengers require a ticket. The Wentworth shuttle bus is free of charge.
Is a drop off area available near the event entry?
Yes. A drop off area will be in operation within the Wentworth Showgrounds. Whilst there is no need to book ahead of time – you must follow all directions of traffic staff and volunteers.
Security
Will there be security on site at the event?
Yes. Security will be on site to patrol the event and manage access into the event area. Security will also be checking ID on entry and giving wristbands to those above the age of 18.
What is the security process at the entry?
On entry into the event area all guests will have their ID checked and their belongings searched by licenced security guard. Attendees above the age of 18 will be given a wristband and therefore will be able to purchase drinks. Security will patrol this area monitoring for BYO alcohol and signs of intoxication.
Prohibited Items
What if I’m caught trying to bring in prohibited items?
If prohibited items are found, you will be required to leave the event site.
Can I bring alcohol into the event?
No BYO alcohol is permitted. Alcohol can be purchased within the event area.
Are there any restrictions on what I can bring into the event?
Yes. Please see below list of prohibited items:
- Alcohol and Illicit Drugs
- Glass, Cans, Metal Cutlery and Containers
- Laser Pointers, Weapons and Fireworks
- Professional Cameras, Recording Equipment or Drones
- Musical Instruments, Whistles, Hooters and Horns
- Confetti and Shredded Paper
- Scooters, Roller Skates, Skateboards and Push Bikes
- Commercial, Political or Offensive Signage and Clothing
Prohibited items also include anything that may detract from another person’s right to quiet enjoyment of the event or any item or activity that may damage property.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
No, no outside food or drinks will be permitted.
Can I smoke at the event?
You may only smoke within dedicated smoking areas on site.
General Event
I need to bring medication into the event with me – is this allowed?
Yes. Please ensure the medication remains within its original packaging and you notify event security at entry of any sharps or other medical items within your belongings.
Will there be medical on site?
Yes medical assistance is available within the event. Please advise event security or staff immediately if you require assistance.
What happens if my child is lost?
Please stay calm and report to event security or staff immediately.
Is food and beverage available for purchase at the event?
The Smoke Show will host a range of high quality food and drink options. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase.
Will there be free water available within the events?
Free water bottle refill stations are available within the event. BYO Refillable Drink Bottle.
Will there be toilets available at the event?
Public and accessible toilets are available in multiple locations.
How does the weather affect the event?
The events will proceed unless it is unsafe to do so. You are encouraged to come prepared for the forecasted weather.
Is there a dress code for the event?
No – however we recommend you check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
What are the arrangements for people with limited mobility at the event?
Accessible parking and toilet facilities will be available at the event. If you have specific enquires about accessibility access, or wish to register your needs please email events@wentworth.nsw.gov.au
Are animals allowed into the ticketed events?
Only authorised assistance animals will be permitted.
